In 2008 a long, dry growing season allowed grapes to ripen fully, for a wine of classic Que Syrah character. Sanguine, white pepper, and black olive aromas with flavors of cured meat, black currant and cherry. Fine tannin structure, pitch-perfect acidity and a hint of sweet French oak make this wine enjoyable now, but it will cellar beautifully through 2020. 14.3% Alc.
2008 Thieriot Syrah has initial aromas of damp earth and menthol. Hints of anise and vanilla give the wine remarkable complexity and a ribbon of juniper and Bing cherry leads into a robust and vibrant palate. It is fresh on the palate with moderate acidity and fine-grained tannins. Raspberry bittersweet chocolate, fennel, dried coppa and minerals linger to the finish. These lively, inviting flavors are a true expression of this amazing small vineyard. 14.0% Alc.
Interwoven aromas of cigar tobacco, cherry, lavender, clove, creamy vanilla and smoke-cured ham always make up. The most robust of our three Syrahs, Vivio is enforced with fine ripe tannin and balanced fruit 14.5% Alc.
The Santa Lucia Highlands appellation in Monterey County is well suited to growing white grape varieties and Viognier in particular. We fermented the wine in two cement tanks and bottled prior to malolactic fermentation to preserve the bright and fresh fruit character. Our Viognier has exotic aromas of citrus blossom, ripe pear and lilies. The crisp racy acidity and clean finish lend well to pairing with spicy cuisine, pasta or seafood or on its own as a refreshing summer beverage. Drink this dry white wine young and well chilled.
